Micro X-Ray Computed Tomography (MXCT) laboratory is one of the newest additions to modern scientific infrastructure of Colorado School of Mines. It can perform tomographies of opaque objects with micro spatial resolution. This non-destructive technique delivers 3D representations of internal structures of objects in large variety of applications. The lab was created to facilitate research on problems relevant in the Earth Sciences and energy-related Material Sciences, and Environmental Sciences.
The laboratory was funded, in large part, by Chevron Co and it offers services to researchers on Colorado School of Mines campus as well as to outside clients.

This facility is supported by Chevron Corporation,
Petroleum Engineering, Geophysics,
and
Geology and Geological Engineering Departments
at the Colorado School of Mines.
